Lisa Cinar

Lisa Cinar is an illustrator, writer, and art therapist with a special love for picture books and dogs. She taught a certificate illustration program on picture book illustration & writing at the Emily Carr University of Art & Design for seven years (2010-2017) and ran her entrepreneurial-creative-project Draw Me A Lion for over a decade from 2011-2024. Recently she obtained her diploma in Art Therapy at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute and is excited to embark on her journey as art therapist in addition to continuing her love for creative projects in the publishing and visual art realm.

German-Turkish by heritage, Lisa grew up in Germany, spent her adolescence in Boston and now resides in Vancouver, Canada, the unceded, traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. She is honoured to be a part of this unique and beautiful place of forests and ocean.

Some other things she cares about: spending time in nature, learning new things, biking, animal rights, neurodiversity, chronic pain/fibromyalgia community and climate advocacy, the magic of the creative process. Creative thinking and problem solving.
