Lisa Cinar
Lisa Cinar is an illustrator, writer, (picture)book-fan, dog-lover, fibromyalgia-hater and art therapist. She ran her creative project/online shop Draw Me A Lion for over a decade from 2011-2024 and taught a certificate illustration program on picture book illustration & writing at the Emily Carr University of Art & Design’s CS department for seven years (2010-2017). She recently obtained her diploma in Art Therapy at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute (2025) and is excited to start her private practice as art therapist in addition to continuing her love for creative projects in the publishing and visual art realm.
German-Turkish by heritage, Lisa grew up in Germany, spent her adolence in Boston MA and now resides in Vancouver, Canada, the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations and is honoured to be a part of this unique place of ocean and forests. (Some) of the things she cares about: spending time in nature, learning new things, biking, animal rights, neurodiversity, chronic pain/fibromyalgia community and climate advocacy, the magic of the creative process.
